Single Tier Effect

Single tier effects do not increase or decrease in effectiveness like the tiered effects.  Instead, the effect will be denoted by a number after it, (e.g. Fortify 2 which would grant 2 Armor instead of 1). This applies to all effects that can be enhanced.

Amplify (Type) - For the next two turns all spells of the (Type) of magic have +1 Power. This effect stacks. Can be enhanced.

Blessed – Once blessed, the Player may add one face card of their choice to their Face Card Slots on the top of the character sheet.  This face card returns to their available card deck once it is used.

Boosted – Magic is stronger in this area.  For the next two turns, all magic has a +1 Influence.  This is replaced by a stronger Boosted effect, but it does not stack. Can be enhanced.

Cursed – The Player adds one available ace to their character’s deck.  Aces act as a Black Joker when drawn.  Once they are drawn and used for a check, they are returned to the character’s available card deck. If no Aces are available, then the Cursed effect doesn’t take place.

Dampen (Type) - The opposite of Amplify (Type).  For the next two turns, all spells of the (Type) of magic have -1 Power.  This effect stacks. Can be enhanced.

Flanked – The character or monster has two or more enemies adjacent to them at least 2 hexes apart.  The enemies the character or monster is not facing treat the character’s Avoidance as two less.

Focused – A character is more aware of their surroundings. They have +2 Avoidance and +2 Awareness. Can be enhanced to add +1 Avoidance and +1 Awareness per enhancement.

Fortify – A Fortified character or monster creates some type of damage protection around themselves.  They have +1 Armor. Can be enhanced.

Freedom – The character or monster’s movement cannot be hindered. For two turns, they ignore all movement based physical effects, such as, Paralyzed, Immobilized, or Hasted.  They are still affected by Knockdown.

Hasted – The character or monster moves faster than normal.  For two turns, they move 2 meters, 5 feet, or 1 hex farther per movement action and have one more movement action per turn.

Keen Senses – The opposite of Dulled Senses.  The character or monster is more adept at sensing their surroundings.  They have a +1 to all Spot, Listen, and Detect Magic Checks.  Their attacks have a +1 Accuracy.  Can be enhanced.

Muted - Unable to speak.  No social actions that require voice.

Pierce – This attack ignores 1 Armor. Can be enhanced.

Stifled – The opposite of Boosted.  Magic is weaker in this area.  For the next two turns, all magic has a -1 Influence.  This is replaced by a stronger Stifled, but it does not stack. Can be enhanced.

Strengthened – This is the opposite of Weakened. The character or monster is stronger than normal. Their attacks deal +2 Damage. Can be enhanced adding +1 Damage per enhancement.

Sunder – This attack destroys 1 Armor. This Armor is destroyed until it can be repaired. Can be enhanced.
